DATED MAY 20th 1863!WITH ITS ORIGINAL WOODEN FRAME & GLASS!

Measures a Very Large 32.5" Tall by 28" Wide! With it's OriginalWooden Frame with a Gold Border! The Embroidery is mounted on Its Original Wooden Stretcher and enclosed withits Original Reverse PaintedGlass with a Black Border and thewords: "CAROLINE F. HASHAGEN, MAY 20th 1863"I have added a Strong Newhanging wire on the back! This Incredible Embroidery shows the New Testament Scripture of John 4:4-26 Where Jesus meets the Samaritan Woman at Jacob's Well in Samaria and asks her for a drink of water. As you can see Jesus is holding up his hand with5 fingers and pointing to it,telling the womanthat she has had 5 husbands (John 4:18).

Caroline F. Hashagen(Married name Meredith) was born in1850, inNew York, to John Christopher Hashagen and Friederike Charlotte Hashagen (born Lückern). Her Father John was born on August 31 1814, in Hannover, Germany, and her Mother Friederike was born on May 20 1818, in Germany, Prussia. Caroline was baptized in1850, in New York. She had 4 siblings: Johann Gerdt Heinrich Hashagen and 3 other siblings. Caroline married John A Meredith in1870, at the age of 19 inNew York. Theyhad 4 children: John Henry Meredith and 3 other children.Caroline passed away and wasburied in1934, inNew York.
