CIVIL WAR ERA TINTYPE FULL LENGTH YOUNG LADY FASHIONABLY DRESSED RINGLETS:

1/6th plate, full length tintype image of a very beautiful young lady fashionably dressed housed in an unusual case designed to look like a book with gilt edges.The studio pose is typical for the era, with the subjects hand resting on a table placed at her side. Her gown is nipped in at the waist with voluminous skirt and bell shaped sleeves gathered into a tight cuff at her wrist. The bodice is adored with a light color collar, fastened with a brooch. Fair of face, her cheeks art lightly tinted pink. Her beautiful dark hair is styled in ringlets.
Case is wood with leather covering, gilt edges and metal clasp. Top of case has staining. Inside on the left is padded with a creamy fabric that also has a light stain.Image is matted and framed with gold foil and has some tiny dark spots, but does not distract from the overall beauty of this early photograph.
