This plate is very hard to find. There were created a fewspecial Icelandic Christmas plates in 1928, 1929 and 1930 for Bing andGrondahl.

The IcelandicChristmas series was short-lived, only in production from 1928 to 1930, butthere might also

be one from 1931. They are the same size as the regularChristmas plates and done in the same relief style.

Because the ones we haveever seen or heard about, our guess is that they were made as a special order.

Theyare among, if not the most costly of any plates produced.

In the background is the mountain Esja.
