C.1880 Swiss ORCHESTRA Music Box

Wow, what a showpiece for your home this would be! An immense music box, featuring:

- Six (6) 19.5” cylinders, each playing eight tunes

- Orchestral accompaniment of seven (7) tuned and engraved bells, drum and wood-block castanet beaters

- Tune indicator and manual tune changer

- Original tune card showing all 48 songs

- Zither (for tone regulation)

- Individual on-off levers for the orchestra instruments

- Huge double-spring motor for extended playing time

- Burl walnut cabinetry

- Matching, original table over 52” wide

Made in Switzerland, c.1885, by Allard & Sandoz, specialists in large orchestral music boxes.

Please note that, unlike later-made “cartel” music boxes, this special-made piece has the accompanying orchestra playing perfectly in tune with the main cylinder. The bells, especially, add to the delightful music, rather than distract from it.
