I liked the Muppets when the Muppet show was on. I got one of these books, Miss Piggy's Treasury of ARt Masterpieces from the Kermitage Collection books to see what it was all about because again all the reviews I could find on ebay did not tell me much about the book. This is a 43 page book that is a good coffee table book for the Muppet lover or the art lover. It features Muppet characters in place of the "real" subjects in such portaits/paintings as: Green Boy, La Belle Epigue, Whistler's Weirdo, The Smooch, Mona Moi, Jester at the Court of Henry VIII, The Marriage of Froggo Amphibini and Giopiggi Porculini, The Birth of You Know Who, The La Danseur, The Sleepy Zootsy, Arisifroggle Contemplating the bust of a Twerp, young Lady Adroning Herself with pearls,American Gothique, & Pig Before a Mirror. There is an introduction by Miss Piggy, a forward and section on art collecting by Miss Piggy herself. For children it would be a good book to help them relate to art since it feautres Muppet characters. For the adult who loves art, it may be considered a "gag" gift or they may really like it, that would depend on the person. Overall if you are a Muppet fan, it's a nice low cost investment and a great coffee table book that you and your children can share!Read full review
This book, written in the exquisitely unique style of Miss Piggy herself, is a great addition to the Muppet collector. The book contains parody paintings from the Kermitage Museum, each with its own description, history, location and style notes. Miss Piggy does a tres magnifique job in discussing art history as only a Muppet could.
