This is a rare and highly collectible 1914 Krewe of Proteus Mardi Gras favor pin. The pin features a sterling silver cross with an enamelled flower design, making it a unique addition to any collection.Is marked \"STERLING\" & \"PROTEUS 1914\". Beautiful open work cross with an enamel Iris flower on the top. Working pin with C-Clasp. Measures 2 1/2\" x 1 1/2\" and weighs 8.6 grams. The top of the pin also has a hook to be used as a pendant.The enamel is in pristine condition. In 2007, one of these pins with damaged enamel sold for over $400.
