This important book, volume 1 of the Encyclopedia of Biblical Interpretation has been inscribed by President of The United States Harry S. Truman with best wishes to Dr. John Myers.Signed January 8th 1953.Who in turn presented it to Dr. Chaim Twersky in April 1953.The background story to this volume is that this volume was first printed in 1952, and presented as an honor to John Myers, since he was instrumental in supporting the work and printing of this massive undertaking. The presentation placard also pasted in this book, says it was presented by the mayor, to John Myers, in New York Cityat The Waldorf Astoria. December 11, 1952.
There is also a full-page photoat the White House of a committee presenting volume 1 to President Truman on January 9, 1953. Since the volume itself was in tribute to the President.
