Arthur von Frankenberg, one of the fathers of figural art deco, was the sculptor and designer of some of the most creative and stylized Art Deco and Art Nouveau figural items during the 1920’s-30’s. His designs emphasized the artistic nude female form in items such as lamps, ashtrays, ash stands, bookends, vases and other accessories. These products were sold by Frankart, Inc. a company owed by von Frankenberg and 2 others.

We are offering a very rare von Frankenberg masterpiece in beautiful condition with all original parts and finishes. For authentication, the base is embossed with the company name (Frankart), date (1928), and patent number (see pictures). Aside from some nicks and scratches the enamel finish is amazingly well kept (bright and glossy). This item is Uniquely styled with a multi-step rectangular base 8” long by 5” wide. Two nude women figurines positioned with legs, feet, and abdomen fully extended up while balancing on their upper back and shoulders. The figures are holding up an 8” moon style crackle art glass light globe. The lamp is 18” from botom of base to top of the glass globe. It is mystical and gothic in character especially with the glowing suspended moon, and the somber facial expressions and hair designs of the figurines.

Condition Overview: Used; Excellent Condition for age; Original Unaltered (except possibly replaced power cord); and Working as Intended. Most vintage and antique items have age appropriate wear which can include scratches, cracks, scrapes, oxidation, patina, tarnish, discoloration, missing pieces, and other notable imperfections. The lamp has aged very well with some nicks and scratches with minor loss of the enamel finish.
