Vintage Mid-Century Modern Table Lamp Description and Item Information
Up for sale is this modernist vintage lamp. Please excuse the glare in the photos. The lamp consists of a brass-plated metal cone and shade, with a black metal curved stem and a heavy iron ring base. The height of the lamp is approximately 17 inches; it is about 17 inches long and 16 inches wide. No light bulb is included. Unpacked, this item weighs 10 pounds 2.7 ounces. It would be a fabulous addition to a retro, mid-century modern decor. Identification
This vintage (circa mid-twentieth century) lamp is unsigned. It is attributed to Robert Bulmore. For years, this design was attributed by dealers and sale houses as being by Greta Grossman, Mitchell Bobrick, or Robert Bulmore; more recently, the consensus seems to be that it is by the latter. I have also seen a floor lamp version of this table lamp. Condition
The lamp looks very good overall. It has light wear. There is some minor chipped paint to the interior of the metal shade, as shown (see Photo 8). There are some minor scuffs, scratches, and tiny spots to the lamp (see Photos). The brass plating has areas of slightly lighter / darker finish. To the lower interior of the cone, there is minor soiling. The lamp works; as with all used electrical items, it should be inspected by a professional before use. The cord, socket, and plug look good cosmetically. Please review the photos, and ask any questions you may have prior to offerding or buying. Terms of Sale 1. Payments
