Rare handwritten on parchment with olive woodcase

Antique Esther Scroll

Scrollof Esther on parchment. Within an illustrated olive wood case.

Italy, end of the 18th – beginning of the 19thcentury.

Theparchment is 12 cm. tall.

3strips, 20 columns, 18 lines to a column.

With aseparate parchment with the blessings for the megilla, written by the samescribe.

Expertscribal print, particularly nice. The scroll is preserved within a rounded woodcase with a picture of a house and trees, a woman, young man and woman inblack.

Theparchment and text are in very fine condition, other than light blemishes thatwere repaired on the first column.

Thetext on the first two columns is slightly faded. The screw connection is weak.
