The history of \"Yamaaki \" pots:

Kataoka Akitsugu began manufacturing \"Yamaaki\" pots in Tokoname City in 1928. These pots are made by a process called \"Shousen\", that results in a pot having a multitude of microscopic holes, these holes improve gas exchange for the roots of your bonsai tree. If you visit the plant where these are made you will see Japanese ladies with sandpaper hand burnishing these pots several times during the manufacturing process, this is what gives these pots their smooth finish. Yamaaki pots are considered by many to be the finest Japanese pots made.
