Large Antique Imperial Nippon Hand Painted Vase

Beautiful Hand Painted Japanese Porcelain Vase by ImperialNippon.

No chips, cracks, flakes, flea-bites, or repairs! Some gilding wear due to age. One “glazemiss” on one flower petal – looks like the glazer missed a small spot with theclear over-glaze.

This vase was covered with many years’ worth of grime when Ifound it, but cleaned up wonderfully with mild soap and water.

The piece dates to before 1921, when the import / exportlaws would have required English language country of origin marks – “Japan”,not “Nippon”.

The hand painted decoration shows the influence of theemerging Art Deco style’s impact during the early 20th century on traditionalJapanese porcelain.

I believe that this is a Peony design.

Measures: Approximately 12 inches tall, 7 ¾ inches wide.

Has the old blue “Imperial Nippon” back-stamp mark on thebottom.
