This M4000 Ford 4X4tractor is very rare. It is really hard to come up with a price as Ican\'t find another one like it to compare it to. I have looked farand wide, but haven\'t found one. I have talked to many old Fordtractor dealers and mechanics and they have never seen one. It may beworth a lot more than I am asking for it. It would be a real asset toa Ford tractor collection or a museum, or to someone who likes toparticipate in tractor show and parades. If you like tractorsexpecially rare and hard to find ones, this maybe what you arelooking for.

This M4000 Ford tractorwas made in 1968 in Antwerp, Belgium as identified on the ID plate.The numbers on the ID plate are 8J28B which tells when it was madeand the serial number A176092 which tells where it was made. Theplate also has four Ford logos. You can see this in the picture.Thetractor is mostly all original as far as I can tell. The paint is notoriginal as it has been painted a few years back.

It is a 3 cylinder dieselwith live power and 4-speed Hi/Lo transmission. It starts and runsgood and has 34xx hours on it. The brakes, 3-point lift, PTO, and 4wheel drive work good.The front tires are 8-24in good condition. The back tires are 13-36 and have a lot of treadbut are weather cracked. They still have a lot of life left in them.The front differential has in raised letters a “FP” on it. Thereis a tag on the tractor about the 4-wheel drive. According to thistag, it appears to be a Major 4000. This tag also explains the FP onthe differential.
