Theitem is a First Edition, extracted and disbound from ThePhilosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, Vol. 57, Part I Forthe Year 1767, pages 155-178, with three large extended plates. Thisvolume of the transactions was published in London in 1768. Thedisbound item is approximately 6 1/4 x 8 1/2 inches and in good condition. The first pictureabove is the first page of the paper and the subsequent illustrationsshow the drawings of maps in the extended plates.
JohnCaverhillwas elected to the Royal Society on Sept. 2, 1769. He died on Sept 1,1781
