COLONY OF NEW JERSEY, BRITISH NORTH AMERICA Issued March 25, 1776. Not quite is New Jersey in the United States yet.
I\'ve shown this note to a number of dealers some at the Memphis Paper Money Show a couple of years ago and they all agree that abend, fold what have you is an \"AS MADE\" feature. This so-calledfold brings the grade to Almost Uncirculated 53. You be the judge.
The highlight of this piece is quite obvious with its very unusual \"Boardwalk\" margins all around and on both sides. I personally haveowned well over 25 of these New Jersey Colonial notes and I have never seen margins like this and some of those that I\'ve owned haddecent margins. Many other dealerstoo say that they have never seen a note of this caliberin their travels. It looks like this particularpiece or sheet was pulled aside as a proof for the printer or a dignitary then placed back intothe fold to be issued. The marginsscreamproof and are exceptional.
