M. Deriberpie was a Gold Rush engraver in San Francisco,active between 1853 and 1854. During this time he was productive,but a majority of his varieties are rare to very rare. BG-522 has awide 53 in the date and Die State III, with the obverse shattered. The wheat-gold surfaces are unmarked and theportrait exhibits full detail.Tied for finest of only three examples of BG-522 certifiedby NGC. Census: 2 in 61 none finer!
Lastest sale for this variety was for a PCGS AU-58 which sold in February 2018 for $5160!
