Well, not really. Most of the pieces that were used as jewelry were done so by the working girls, or \"floozy\'s\" of the day. Men would come in and pay with the gold piece and women, not having access to a variety of jewelry, would mount many of these pieces as necklaces!(if only it could talk and tell stories!)
