A notch out about 5:00 reverse and an overall ugly look to the medal from being found in ground and subsequently harshly cleaned.It is hard to read but the medal was made byWhitehead & Hoag Co.,located on reverse under the star. Probably Bronze or Copper. This should be a so-called dollar, not holed, right size, and commemorative.See pictures.
