1911 German regimental military reservistenkrug stein screw off finial, stanhope:
$499.99

Up for this sale is this beautiful antique German regimental stein. This stein stands a little over 12\" tall and is 1/2L in size. I guarantee this to be an authentic 106 year old regimental stein. This stein has a several neat features. First, the finial soldier and lion screw on and off of the lid. The finial base is also marked DR 439192 (the 2 could also be a 7 - some of it is hard to make out - please see the photo).Second, the thumblift has a glass eye also known as a stanhope. A stanhope is a round tiny piece of glass that has a tiny photo attached to it. Unfortunately, about 90% of these stanhopes have lost their photos over time in most regimental steins. This one still has remnants of the photo - it\'s very crackled/separated and about the only thing you can make out is part of a soldiers face and upper torso in the very middle, maybe 10% left of the photo.Third, the roster in the rear of the stein lists many ranks in the roster including Sergeant, Unteroffizer, Sanit. Unt., Fahnrich, Geireiter, San. Gfr., Tambour, Hornist, Infantrist, Hauptmann, Oberleutnant, Leutenant, Feldwebel, Vize=Feldwebel. This stein is named to Josef Burger, and his last name is at the very bottom of the very first column of names. Unusual to see this many ranks listed in the roster. It\'s neat they listed everyone from the company medic (Sanit. Unt.) to Leutenant. The unit information around the top of this stein is 10. Inf.-Rgt. ,,Prinz Ludwig\" 8. Comp. Ingolstadt 1909-1911. There is a red epulat on the front with a yellow 10 on it. There is also a nice lithophane in the bottom of the stein you can see when you hold it up to the light. There is a little dirt in the bottom but the litho is free of any damage. The lid has a very tiny bit of play left-right maybe 1/16\". You can feel the hand enameled hilites on the soldiers buttons and circling Ludwig on the front of the stein when you run your fingers over them. This stein is in incredible shape for being 106 years old - you\'ll look long and far to find one in better shape. I will pack this stein well to ensure safe delivery to you. Please see my other sale of antique regimental reservistenkrug steins, Mettlach steins, and other antique steins on .
