Here is arguably, one of the greatest Schwinn tandem bikes I have ever had the honor of offering to you on !
Here is an original VINTAGE (I believe this bike was made in 1955? The serial number appears to be T006267? and is stamped on the bottom of the cranks housing) Schwinn tandem/2-person bicycle with 26\" wheels. This is one of the most original and finest built Schwinn tandem bicycles I have ever seen... anywhere! It is in the original and very appealing Opal Blue colored factory paint. If you like TOP OF THE LINE vintage original tandem bikes, this may be a great bike for you. With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike!

*I JUST got this bike from a good local friend. This bike has always been local to my city and has very low miles on it for a 65+ year old bike! It is in better condition than a lot of bikes that are only a couple years old! Whoever had it did not use it much and obviously took good care of it! I am passionate about bikes and to me this one is a real jewel! To me, this is one of those rare bikes that only comes up once in a decade if you are lucky and look good and hard. I truly hope you can appreciate this one for what it is! This is the earliest, and one of the most beautiful, Schwinn tandem bikes I have ever seen!
*I believe this bike is NEARLY 100% original parts right down to the wheels, tires, seat, and pedals. Check out the COOL Schwinn \"AS\" TANDEM head badge! This one has that super cool shaped frame with original paint and decals. (I love the \"Schwinn\" decals on the down tubes) I love the quality of the welds/brazing they put into this bike from the factory. If you look close, they are seamless! You don\'t see this on most Schwinn bikes! Check out the correct original chain guards, (the gold Town And Country looks great and I have not seen this design before) cruiser handlebars, Schwinn hand grips, cool brake levers, aluminum rear tandem neck with \"AS\" (Arnold Schwinn) bolts, Wittkop saddle front and rear, (has some splits but are quite comfortable) both chain guards are correct and in place, (they always seem to be missing on these bikes) 3-piece cranks, Schwinn BOW pedals, (x4) and so much more! This one has chrome fender braces, seat post clamp, and chrome kickstand. These are nice little details only found on the deluxe bicycles of the time. If you built a bike like this from a bare frame, you would spend a LOT of cash on individual parts Best part, this one appears to be basically all original! BE SURE to check out all pics and be your own judge.. This bike is was a very fine built bike from the factory when people put pride in their work. You won\'t find a more top of the line vintage Schwinn tandem than this one! This bike is \"right\" down to almost ever detail and has not been molested like many that you see.

*Tandem bikes are SO MUCH FUN! You and your sweetie can enjoy a ride through the park together! Also a great way to take a younger person for an enjoyable ride! A fun activity for you and your best friend!!!

*The tires are 26x1 1/2\" (To fit Schwinn S-4 rims) They are vintage SCHWINN TANDEM tires front and rear and both do hold air. (I believe they are original for the bike, they have minimal wear! You can still feel and see injection moulding nubs on the sides. I believe this bike was used very little since new. the rear tire has a small side split. The bike has chrome Schwinn S-4 rims front and rear with the super cool front AND rear drum expander brakes! The stopping power of this bike is amazing!

*The bike is an original single speed with hand controlled brakes. This one has the optional FRONT and REAR drum/expander brakes! These provide much better stopping power as you have 2 people on this bike! A lot of bikes DID NOT come with this great feature! Check out the thick heavy duty spokes!

*DIMENSIONS The FRONT rider dimensions... The stand over height is approx 30 3/4\". The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 31 1/2\". The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 21 1/2\". The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 21 1/2\". REAR rider dimensions... The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 28 1/2\". The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 19 1/2\". The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 21 1/2\". The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust.

*NOTED FLAWS It is not 100% flawless but is nice! The paint is original and looks relatively good for a 65+ year old bike! (it does have chips, scratches, but has survived better than almost any bike I have seen from this era See pics and be your own judge) Overall the paint is very nice for its age! The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. (Shows age and would look better with things like the seat post clamps polished etc, its not bad though compared to most bike from this era) Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to) To my knowledge, the only part on the bike that appears to be non original are the hand grips. (see pics) They may even be original for the bike. NOT trying to nit pick, just like to be honest. If you click on any of the pics they get very large to show lots of detail. Please take a look at all pics for exact condition and email with any questions before you offer.

*I sincerely hope someone out there can truely appreciate this bike! You see newer Schwinn tandem bikes often but RARELY see these! I had one other on in the last 5+ years of doing this! They are a rare find! ESPECIALLY with both chainguards in place AND the cool front and rear expander brakes!
*Sorry, not trying to oversell you on anything. I am a bike guy and a bike this nice really excites me. This could be the center star attraction of your collection! Bikes that are this original and this nice RARELY ever come along! I love an unrestored bike like this much better than an over restored bike! (hey they are only original once!

PAYMENT TERMS: Paypal is \'s accepted form of payment. Items are shipped every Tuesday and every Friday. Payments received by Monday generally ship on Tuesday. Payments received after generally ship on Friday.

SHIPPING TERMS: SHIPPING TIME I ship bikes on Tuesdays and Fridays via Fed Ex. Generally, if I receive your payment by 1 pm central time on Monday, it allows me enough time to get your bike to the shop for packing and to ship along with the Tuesday AM shipment. If I receive your payment by 1 pm central time on Thursday, it gives enough time to have it packed and ship Friday AM. If paid after that time, please expect it to go out with the next shipment.
