THERE IS NO SHIPPING on any of these motors- I do not have the time to box /crate motors and drive them the HOURS of round trip to the nearest ABF shipping dock- I am far out in the country not near any truck ship depots. We have tried UPS / Fedex with POOR results- lots of damage- and I don\'t have time to break these motors into two parcels and then pack them so that they do have a chance of arriving safely. The transaction is for PICK UP or delivery according to the terms below ONLY!! Cash ONLY for pickup.

TRAVEL / DELIVERY ROUTE:

Starting Thursday morning June 8, 2017 I will depart Western KY Zip Code 42211 and head EAST on I-24 through Nashville to Chattanooga and then SOUTH on Interstate 75 through all of Georgia, while taking I-285 skirting Macon and further South into Florida. My stopping point in Florida on I-75 will Exit 275. I will arrive at this point in the evening of June 8, 2017- all motors need to be picked up at this point or earlier. I will travel this entire route on June 8, 2017.

PLEASE ask all questions regarding logistics of delivery arrangements BEFORE offerding. If you are a zero or low response buyer EMAIL ME first before offerding or I may delete your offer- we have had 90% of our zero/low response offerding activity turn out to be frivolous in recent years. I may send you a quick email to confirm that you are along the delivery route, if you fail to respond to that email then that tells me that you are not up to communicating the way that we will have to in order to have a successful delivery transaction- I may pull your offer if you do not respond.

This is all very simple- all we need to do the transaction is a gas station or fast food place right off the highway where we can meet and exchange cash for motor(s). Motors being delivered or picked up are to be paid CASH in person. No paypal.

MOTOR DESCRIPTION:

This sale is for the pictured 1956 model year Elgin (manufactured by West Bend under the Sears Roebuck \"ELGIN\" contract) Model 571.59501 short shaft outboard motor- this motor has seen better days as you can see in the photos but has a LOT of valuable parts to offer. Right now this motor is stuck and it looks to me that the motor had a rodent infestation issue at some point in the past that probably caused the paint loss and rust/corrosion that you see on the engine block. HOWEVER, this engine has the elusive pop up bendix starter that is complete and probably needing a good cleaning and lubrication, BUT the plastic bendix tooth gear is there and in very nice shape- a 50 dollar value by itself. The spool does have rope on it but the rope is very hard and deteriorated and the pull handle has fallen off at some point in the past. One other issue is that the top adjustment needle in the carburetor is loose- I can\'t tell if the needle threads are stripped or the needle just needs threading back into the hole. The cowl on this motor will not buckle down securely to the motor but the motor side hardware appears to be complete. The cowl side hardware (it\'s a hinge) is missing. If you collect / restore these vintage Elgin / West Bend 5 1/2 / 7 1/2 horsepower motors then this motor is a great deal for you. JUST the recoil assembly definitely covers 5 1/2 to 7 1/2 and possibly also the 12 and 18 horsepower models and routinely trades for no small amount of money in the obsolete parts market- this is a genuniely TOUGH to find part because many people did not treat these plastic bendix starters with the care that they needed to endure several decades. So, this motor has ISSUES as stated but has a lot of valuable parts to offer for your Elgin / West Bend vintage motors- and possibly the starter is compatible with 1960s era West Bend and Chrysler motors as well. I\'m not interested in unbolting the starer and selling it separately at this point in time. Please ask any questions that you may have before offerding!! !!!!

I am a one man show and truck shipping depot docks are MANY HOURS away from me. Pickup needs to happen within 7 days of sale end unless other arrangements are made ahead of time.
