Just arrived, a very clean original precision built Alembic Spoiler bass. This California example boasts a near perfect quilted maple top. The body is mahogany and the through body neck is three piece maple, capped with an ebony fretboard. The headstock presents the respected Alembic logo overmaple veneer and Schaller tuners. Oval fretboard inlays are in perfect shape. The width at the nut is 1 3/4 inches. Guitar is original and untouched in every way other than a new battery. The Alembic low impedance active pickups sound incredible. All of the original brass alloy hardware from the nut to the tail piece is solid and fully functional.Thisbeauty tips the scale at 9.55 pounds. Cosmetically the guitar is excellent ++ with no obvious play wear or finish flaws. I could only find one tiny pen head size ding on the top.There are a few tiny nicks around the perimeter. Back of the bass and back of the neck are smooth with no flaws. There are a few minor light scratches on the plastic control cavity cover. If you are looking for a well preserved classic Alembic bass, this could be the one. Originalhardcase is in very good condition.
