You are viewing a lovely piece of Pennsylvania redware pottery. The \"LB 96 PA\" incised marking on the base of this 4 1/4\" tall solid redware Father Christmas or Santa Claus figure is that of world famous American traditional folk art potter Lester Breininger (1935-2011) of Robesonia, Pennsylvania. This 1996 dated piece depicts an old fashioned Saint Nicholas with long beard. It is in excellent condition with no flaws found. A very nice Lester Breininger original just in time for Christmas.
