What we have here isa Gorgeous Large Well Carved Northwest Coast Native Totem Pole by EDDIE APODACA from Squamish British Columbia Canada, created in 2008, images include a Majestic Thunderbird Grasping Killer Whale (Killer Whale is Thunderbird\'s favorite food)... substantial size at 25 inches tall by 10 inches wide. This is a wonderful piece with lots of character, very well carved, displays excellently. Just look at the skillfully carved crisp refined details and the bold vivid features as well as the attractive stained wood. Underside of base has carvers name and carving date etc. Wings and base will be unscrewed for safer and more economical shipping. Good condition... may have minor nicks, dings, rubs, scratches and imperfections etc, see photos for condition... look at the photos and you decide to your best judgementthe condition and what this is worth. Edde Apodaca, Squamish Nation. Eddie Apodaca is a Squamish Nation Carver who was born in 1969 in Squamish, BC and takes the Bear, the elder kinsman, as his family crest. He was raised the traditional way, learning about his heritage and culture, such as hunting, fishing, singing, dancing, and beading.

Eddiehas been carving for over 20 years and first began carving with Squamish Nation artists Earl Lewis and Jacob Lewis, but is mostly self-taught and carves in the Northwest Coast style.

Eddie specializes in intricate wood carvings of manydifferent forms such as plaques, bowls, poles, masks, rattles and talking sticks. Animal themes are the most common element in Eddie’s work with special attention to detail. These carvings may have a natural finish, be stained or hand painted and are seen in many local Art Galleries and Gift Shops in the Vancouver area.

Eddie is proud of his culture and heritage, which comes through in his artwork and carvings. Travelers and collectors from all over the world seek out Eddie’s work.
