ANTIQUE (ABP) AMERICAN BRILLIANT CUT GLASS (SUGAR BOWL & CREAMER)
Possibly by one of the upstate New York Manufacturers of Cut Glass From the late 1800\'s to first part of 1900\'s.
(Glows Green Under Black Light)DESCRIPTION
(Dish shows no sign of a signature as far as I can see). These are both heavy. Etched with flower pattern with deep cut leaves. Handles and around the rims both have deep cuts. These items were black light tested with a long bulb. The sugar bowl has some condition issues, where there is (1) 3/4\" chip on the rim (pic 7), and (1) other small chip on one of the handles where it attaches to the bowl (pic 6). The creamer is in excellent vintage condition with no cracks or chips far as I can see. There are signs of wear, ( scratches) due to age on the bottom of both pieces. I looked at the miter cuts through a loop and it doesn\'t look like they were diamond wheel cut, as far as I can tell. I am not an expert on cut glass though. This is just my observations and my understanding from doing research on how to tell diamond wheel cuts. I want to list items to the best of my ability.
