Appears to be in good condition.

No cracks or chips

The laminate has some surface crackles in as most ceramics do with age

appears to have some tiny brown speckles that I thought were supposed to be there but when I wiped it off with a cloth to remove dust, some of the speckled came off so it probably just needs to be cleaned.

Lid is in good condition but unless it is supposed to be dark; it appears to have tarnish that will probably come off with a good cleaner.

On the bottom it says;

Don\'t know the history as it belonged to a recently deceased uncle but I know it\'s old.

Just spoke to someone who told me this is a villeroy & Bach also known as mettlach. The geschutzt means that it\'s a German patent. I was told this is probably from the 1850\'s & there\'s no way to determine the exact year bc some were stamped & others weren\'t. And also that no one knows the exact value but I should expect to get some good offers.
