The hat band was cut off of a leather hat, but this is how it was found over 40 years ago. Nothing more has been done to it, just kept safe in a collection. The bead colors are still bright, and the center \"flower\" is about 2 1/3\" X 2 1/8\". It is approx 20\" long, and the bead work alone is 17\" long. It has a thick paper backing to help strengthen the bead work. The pouch, or purse is shown on both sides as well, and has common clear beads missing from the outside. Someone started to replace the outside beads with white beads and that\'s just WRONG! It does show wear on both sides. Not counting the outside, from the red to the red is 4 3/4\" at the widest & top to base red is 4 13/16\". The strap or handle has worn off, but the beads are still anchored well, and not falling off. These two items are absolutely authentic Native American and very old. POSSIBLY CREE New info: might be \"IROQUOIS, because they are similar to their late 1800\'s before they made the whimsy pouches and items of the early 1900\'s.\" Scroll down under the text to see the entire grouping.
