Up for sale a Nice Allied SX-190 Shortwave receiver.(Japan, 1971-1973).

The receiver covers the Ham Bands and the Shortwave Broadcast Bands.

From a smoke free Environment, this receiver has been well taken careof. Pictures show the exact cosmeticscondition which is fair; some marks here and there due to normal wear.

A complete checkup hasbeen performed on this nice vintage receiver.

It is well known that, invintage electronic equipment, originalelectrolytic capacitors go dry after 15 years; they stop doingtheir job the way they should and can seriously damage other componentsin the circuit..They must be replaced...and this is the first thing that was done on theunit; all electrolytic capacitors (there are 13) havebeen replaced with new, more efficient ones.

All contacts, controls, switches and potentiometers have been cleaned and lubricatedwith the best professional contact cleaner.

The radio isin excellent working condition;

All lights work OK.

The S Meter works fine and all controls, all knobs work fine.

A 8 ohmsexternal speaker is required to operate the radio.(not included)

Four modes are available:AM/LSB/USB-CW

Just like every Shortwave and Ham receivers, an antenna isrequired to get these far away stations.. A long wire here does avery good job. More info is available in the Instruction Manual.
