This is an 1899 Model 59 chainless shaft drive bicycle. The running gear is excellent condition as is the fork and headset.With a pair of tires this bike would be rideable. This bike has not been crashed so the headtube is not pushed back and the fork is straight. It does however have multiple frame dents that would need to be worked out. All the hard to find parts are there. Missing only the rear dust cover which is available as a reproduction. The wheels appear to have been changed in the 1920\'s as they have are armored wood. The hubs are both 36 spoke, also 1920 era and use standard \"J\" hook spokes. Not correct but spokes are a whole lot easier to find than ball end or direct pull. Comes with a nice pair of old wood rims (4 rims total). Old seat with a last patent date of 1901. Early King pedals in good running condition. no bent shafts or wobble but missing end caps. Bike has very little rust and no badly damaged mechanical parts. Gears show only minor wear. I\'ve had the cranks out and they go back together nice and tight and straight. Like I said, it runs as is.
