Antique Cast Iron General Store Balance Scale. It features a brass tray that is designed to be used as a scoop on one end to gather the candy, grain, or whatever was being weighed. After it is weighed, the product can then be funneled into a bag using the other end of the scoop/tray.The scale comes with a set of 5 weights- 4 stacking weights (marked 8 oz., 1lb., 2 lb., 4 lb.) to be placed on the platform, and one hanging weight (marked \"J.B. S.\") that is designed to slide along a brass rail on the front of the scale (missing) for smaller measurements. The scale measures about 12\" tall to the top of the brass tray. The base measures about 11.5\" x 4.75\".
Condition is as seen in photos. Scratches, rust/tarnish, missing paint, and other wear. One of the arms that supports the brass tray appears to have been repaired with glue. Please take a look and feel free to ask any questions. Thanks!!!
