Antique CIVIL WAR Carved Wood Fife / Flute with Nickel Mounts 14 3/4\" Long, Belonged to a N.E.OHIO Soldier from Cuyahoga Falls. I purchased a grouping of the soldiers belongings about 15 years ago from a family member,including - Musket, Sword, Bowie Knife, Belt, Pistol, Medals, Discharge papers, Pictures and this Fife. It is a very nice old piece made of possibly Wild Cherry wood, but I am not sure, the light and dark wood reminds me of Native Cherry, there are some carvings on the side by the mouth piece that are very worn over and I can not make them out, maybe a name or a drawing?
