Up for sale is this amazing antique German regimental reservistenkrug stein. This stein stands 8 3/4\" tall and is 1/2L in size.This stein is named to Hermann Harder. Reservist Harder had a very neat lid placed on his stein - it\'s a very large crowned winged wheel with 6 lightning bolts coming out of the middle of the wheel below the wings. Below the winged wheel it says Hoch die Eisenb. Brigade around the lid. The thumblift is an very large manacing spread winged Imperial Prussian Eagle. I\'m not sure, but the lightningbolts may signify reservist Harder served in the experimental part of his unit.This stein is guaranteed to be well over 100 years old. This is similar in style to the Mettlach Eisenbahn Regiment stein I also currently have listed. There is no makers mark on the bottom, but since it has a black top handle, is probably Marzi & Remy. This stein is from 1895 and guaranteed to be 123 years old. The front has a soldier and reservist shaking hands with a locomotive between them. The gold gild on the front has some wear to it, but there is a large E below a winged wheel with more lightningbolts, and wording Wilkommen lieber Vater! Possibly a gift from his father for his service time?The side wording is hard to read the old German script but I believe it says on one side: Zum Andenken frindle gew v. Einen Sohne Gustov. 1. Comp. kgl. Eisenb. Rgt. No 1 Berlin 1895. This would make him a one year reservist, very unusual. The other side says: Froh Omacke ohne Jorgen Trink Denien ohne Jorgen! Gershenshaft und hopfen liebs die besben Tropfen! Keep in mind, it\'s hard to read that old German script so I could be off on some of the spelling of those words.Best of all, this stein has no chips, cracks or repairs!
