For the clock collector…

Hellooo, La La La… (only a few will get that withoutgoogling it :o) Severalmonths ago, I purchased this clocks, well, because it is absolutely beautiful, and I had the means to repair it. This Black Forest, Bahnhausle-style cuckoo was manufactured bythe G.K., Geo. Kuehl & Co.,either in Germany, or possiblyin the U.S.

At the sametime I bought mine, a friend of mine in Chicagosold one identical to this clock, with a few minor issues, but in fine workingcondition. What accentuated his clock was that it sold with the originalpurchase receipt dated 1910, from Chicago, Ill. If I remember correctly, itsold for $459. Maybe you remember this sale around last Christmas?

Well, on tothis beautiful piece I am willing to part with. This G.K. 30 hour cuckooretains most of its original pieces. The 4 finials, numerals, hands, etc, alloriginal. The topper that came with was badly damaged and missing pieces –probably dropped at some point within its long lifespan. I have cut, shaped, and stained a topper that matches the original – an excellent replacement. Ialso turned and shaped a period correct pendulum bob to complete this clock. The clock also has its period correct weights. The movement is quite clean andhas been taken care of. It has been lightly oiled and exhibits minimal wear andoperates nicely. The original bellows retain their still-functioning naturalleather coverings. One note, the minute hand was cracked close to the arbor, but I have glued it back together (with really good stuff – a-hem, not crazyglue), and it looks fine and maintains it’s strength.

The case, inside and out has been cleaned. I haven’t applied any stains, polishes, conditioners, nada… Only cleaned. It measures approx 16” wide by 21.5”tall, notincluding the weights and pendulum, but they certainly add to the overall size.

This is abeautiful, great working clock that I have enjoyed restoring and having in myhome, and I hope it will go to a good home. I even showed it for a week at ourlocal insurance company in town (to strike up some local business) and had alot of wonderful compliments.

This 30hour (1 day) clock cuckoos once and strikes a gong on the half hour, and cuckoosand strikes a gong at the top of the hour for as many hours. As I said, I havehad several compliments on this clock, as I do all of my clocks; it’s a cuckoozoo in my house. This large German cuckoo will be a great, long- terminvestment and family treasure. Everybody seems to know someone that had acuckoo clock in their house when they were little. If you have questions, please don\'t hesitate to e-mail me. I have well over 100 clocks of varyingtypes, and I take my work and restorations seriously. You won’t be buying junk.I ship USPS economy (CUSA only) with insurance to save a few bucks. My clocksare very well packed and come with set up instructions. Postage overpayments will be reimbursed to you via paypal. I do not profit from postage charges. ***Note*** Before purchasing, besure that you have a suitable means for hanging this clock, such as a deckscrew in a wall stud. This is a fairly heavy clock! The adhesive backed 3-Mhanger that holds your shower Loofah is not going to hold this clock up on yourwall, and you will then own a broken clock.

Thanks for looking:o)
