A very rare find!!!

This beautiful antique puppet head of Punchinello is in extraordinary condition. Though there is a hairline crack on the side of his head.

He measures 6\" tall X 4.5\" wide.

My father had collected antiques all over Europe and the Pacific since the early 30\'s. Many of his treasures have been packed up since he died in 1973. Among them is this beautiful puppet head. I don\'t know the age of this piece, but my guess is late 1800\'s - early 1900\'s.

This head is carved of light weight Italian poplar. While the face has remained unpainted it has has a lovely patina resembling a sun age complexion. His lips are lightly stained pink, and his hair and eyebrows are stained brown hat and ruffled collar are painted in a soft wash of Florentine green.

He is truly a work of art, expertly crafted.
