We are offering a fine & quite detailed old Japanese bronze elephant figure. We purchased this unusual old oriental elephant from an estate sale in Fort Knox Kentucky. An officer while stationed in Japan in the early 1970s acquired this old oriental okimono as a gift from a Japanese family. He was told the figure was quite old (I would estimate circa 1880). It is a detailed bronze of an elephant in motion. It is signed by the artist on the tummy. The detail of the face & folds of the skin is outstanding! It is solid bronze & has the original, dark patina. This antique Asian figure stands 4 1/\" tall by 7 1/2\" long(weighs almost 2 pounds). The condition is great with no ware.
