ANTIQUE CAST IRON NEVERBREAK FIRE SHOVELThis is one of the earlier fire shovels made by the Union Fork and Hoe Company of Columbus, Ohio. Cast from one piece of iron, it is stamped as follows on the face of the scoop:NEVERBREAKFIRE SHOVELPAT, NOV 30, 1926UNION FORK AND HOE COCOLUMBUS, OHIO, USAFound recently in the Susquehanna Valley of Pennsylvania, this old fire place accessory is 23.5\" long The scoop itself is 5\" wide x 7-3/4\" long. It remains in very good condition, however does have some rust due to age, see pictures.A classic and early example of an iron hearth accessory!
