Here is a beautiful antique pair of \"puckered moccasins \" almost assuredly Ojibwa as they were known as the \"people of the pucked moccasin\" by other tribes. This refers to the way the hide is pulled up around a beaded medallion top and sewn like a puckered pouch rim. This method also creates a slight point to the toe. They came from an sale of a collection that also had antique Great Lakes sashes and bandolier straps.This pair is in amazing shape ( perhaps used mostly as a display ). They have wonderful woodland flowers scrolling around the flaps done in tiny glass trade beads. I believe the body of the moccasins are smoked moose hide with thin deerskin? flaps.These measure 10.5 to the tip so 10\"-10.5 \" for foot length and up to 4\" across at widest. I imagine there is a slight, stretchy give to the moosehide. Please make sure that is workable if you hope to wear them (as I am not offering returns ).The old hide has only a slight dryness and is pliable. As you can see they look amazing as a collectible beadwork display too.Faintly on the bottoms is a trace of an old \"property stamp?\" from a collector?....but the moosehide is very grainy and the faint lettering is now illegible.These are sure to shine in your collection and I think the condition these are in is hard to see my other Native offerings.....=>>=========x BUYERS- PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BELOW
