This lovelythimble is finely carved from a solid piece of motherof pearl. It is aboutanAmerican size 7.Ithas some striations on the sides where the layers of nacre in the shellwereformed, but the conditionis excellent with no chips, cracks or other damage. Edwin Holmes showsthis thimble on p. 93 of his book AHistory of Thimbles.
