Antique Royal Vienna Bindenschild Mark Beehive Porcelain Authentic Circa early 18o0\'sAlphabet Saucer with Exquisite Flowers
An Extremely Rare Saucer - Date Mark of 801 or 807 incised with the number 11 also, please see photo\'s of the back, if you look closely, you can see them. The markings on the back are the Beehive mark or BINDENSCHILD, which is validated by, The Waltraud Neuwirth Wiener Keramik.
From the year 1784 to the date of its extinction, it was the custom of the Vienna Porcelain factory to mark every piece with the number of the year, which circumstance may be of great service to the connoisseur who seeks early specimens of Vienna porcelain. It is stamped without colour underneath the piece—or rather indented, the first numeral being omitted; thus the number 792 stands for 1792; 802 for 1802; and so on. So, in the case of this Saucer, we arelooking at the dates of either 1801 or 1807.A beautiful, hard to find, antique Bindenschildwith hand painted deep purple, Green, and Yellow Violets, or \" VEILCHEN\" in German, or they are Petunia\'s, or, \"STIEFMUTTERCHEN\", in German. The saucer measures 5 3/8\" wide, and is 1 1/8\" tall.
The condition of this 200 year old Saucer is in Remarkably excellentcondition for it\'s age. There is some minor wear on the Gilding on the rim, and the letters A, V, and W have some Gold loss. The other letters are still nice with minor wear. There is no letter J, which isintentional, and is not an imperfection.
