EarlyEnglish Staffordshire Stoneware Pottery 1760\'s
This listing is for a beautifulpair of early English pottery baskets with their matching under plates.These are not marked but werealmost certainly made in Staffordshire (possibly by Whieldon) and theydate to ca. 1760\'s. They are molded in relief with extensive piercing.The under trays measure 10\" long and 8-1/4\" wide. The baskets measureapprox. 8-3/8\" long (handle to handle), 5-7/8\"wide and 2-1/2\" high. One basket has had restoration to both sideswhich is very hard to see (see close-up pictures), the other basket hasone tiny hairline on the top rim (see close-up picture with red arrow).The under trays are perfect but somewhat warped at the edges. Apartfrom that these are all in fine condition with no other damage orrepair/restoration. A rare chance to buy this wonderful pair ofsuperb early English salt glazed baskets!
