Lovely antique Victorian handmade capelet/shawl/mantle dating from the 19th century.
Composed of a black cotton blend this capelet is simple, elegant and refined. Collar and lapels are adorned with an intricate and ornate floral motif embroidery featuring black jet glass beads. The bottom of the piece is finished in a simple horizontal stripe pattern of black silk trim before the hem. Inside is lined in a hunter green cotton blend. Secures with eyes and hooks. Excellent handmade quality.
Great condition with absolute minimal flaws. Some loose threading and the embroidery is occasionally loose in some spots. Some eyes/hooks may be missing. Please see photos for condition and details and message with any questions.
