Gorgeous velvet Victorian jakcet/bodice! So beautiful! Solid black velvet with chenille trim accented with French Jet. Missing some trim and beading, there are tan colored areas, but it looks lime part of the design (see images). The outer shell has some light spots in the velvet, but could be touched up.The inside has lining in the arms, but none in the rest of the piece. It looks to be made this way. The front closes with hidden buttons. The buttons are unique as 3 are gutta percha and 3 are ornate French Jet. The button hole are in good tight shape. The top hook for the eye is missing. I have not attempted to clean this in any way, and it will need airing. This is pretty sturdy piece and could be worn on the right sized person. Underarms look nice with no signs of wear. This would also make a nice collection or display piece. There is a sewn tag inside that reads 86.17.5 -Possibly the date made. Measures 24\" with fringe down center front, and 29\" long down center down center back with fringe. Shoulders seam to seam is 14\" across outisde. Bust is 15.5\" across outside. Waist 12\" across outside.
