Antique Vintage KitchenAid PC Pouring Chute by Hobart circa 1930s; X-Rare
Used but in great condition for its age. Manufactured in 1930s by Hobart Mfg for KitchenAid, this pouring chute is made of tin platted steel. There is some discoloration and wear on tin platting near back clip (see pictures).
You are offerding on a second generation KitchenAid Pouring Chute manufactured by Hobart Mfg. in Troy, Ohio. You can tell it is second generation as it is made from tin platted steel and it has a metal mounting bracket that is used to attach the chute to the bowl. The first generation had a wire clip instead of the bracket and the third generation had white enamel coating over the metal with the bracket. This extremely rare second generation Chute was made either in the mid 1930s.
It was originally designed to work on the 5 quart tin platted steel bowls but does in fact also work with all of the newer stainless bowls in all of the various sizes. If will not work however on the glass or ceramic bowls. The chute attaches to either the bowl or the water jacket and allows you to add wet or dry ingredients into the bowl while the mixer is running. The chute pits perfectly under the Pelican slicer / shredder and catches all product processed through the Pelican and drops it neatly into the bowl (see second to last picture, mixer and pelican not included in this listing). The chute size is approximately double the size of the newer plastic pouring shields.
The second to last picture shows the chute working in conjunction with a Pelican. The last picture shows a vintage KitchenAid advertisement of a woman pouring milk into the bowl via this chute.
