A circa 1911 rarer hand painted Nippon porcelain footed bowl depicting an Egyptian scene in the center with beaded and gilt borders. The skillfully executed painting to the interior of the bowl illustrates camels with riders, tents and palm trees, all feeding the early 20th century fascination with all things “exotic”. The footed bowl has a gold outer edge with beaded detailing, scrolled handles at both side and the border pattern repeated at the foot. The Morimura Nippon #47 green ink-stamp is clearly visible at the base.CONDITION

There is very slight rub wear to the gold at the handles but otherwise no chips or cracks.
