Vintage Aqua Survey Instrument Company metal locator. It is used for locating underground utilities, water valves, meters, survey markers, etc. To use it simply lay it on it\'s side and find north using the compass. Hold it vertical and hold it with the gold arrow on the case pointing north. As you move along the ground the red end of the needle will show. As you come close to a buried object the needle will rotate with the black end showing. When the needle comes up to 90 you are over the object. This unit is in very good condition, has marking paint on the back side. The case is missing a snap on the front. Please check out the pictures for details and condition of this item.
