Superb and VERY rare, 1975 vintage Aria G-420 dreadnought guitar, S/N 751212cloned as from renowned Gallager dreadnought, of Wartrace, TN. This guitar was built in Japan in 1975 by the master guitar builder, Matsumoku. Many claim (many erroneously) the Matsumoku distinction on a host of Japan built guitars, however this one is not only Aria, documented to have contracted acoustic guitars from Matsu, but it bears the hallmark of Matsumoku\'s custom shop--the patented three piece neck, which has two select longitudinal boards sandwiching a center board which has its grain turned 90 degrees to the other laminations. (see photos). The result is tremendously strong, and after 40 years, the neck on this guitar is virtually perfect. The guitar\'s laminate body sings, extremely accurately pitched at all strings and all positions. Heavily flamed maple body, and rare bound maple fretboard in great shape, as are the frets, which were recently dressed and polished professionally. Beautiful binding front, back, neck and headstock and is in perfect shape. Low action, no buzzes anywhere. Abalone headstock logo inlay, tortoise ivoroid original pickguard. Rosewood bridge and compensated bone saddle. Neck to body and bridge to top attachments are original and perfect. The tuners have been replaced with open, 18-to-1 ratio chrome Gretsch tuners (not logoed), with butterbean knobs. (see headstock photos). This Aria has one in a million intonation--measured spot on-- and gives a crisp and precise sound with nice, not boomy bass. Beautiful sound whether played softly or picked loud. Back of neck is absolutely mint, with its satin finish hardly burnished. Truss rod is functional, and the guitar comes with its plush-lined case, which is a thin-walled hard shell case of 1970\'s Japan vintage, with all handles, hinges, and clasps intact. Case has a music store sticker on outside. Photos show one tiny dink on spruce top (lower bout on bass strings side); other than that this guitar is quite a showpiece, with only very minor signs of careful and light usage! You might want to read up about Gallagher guitars, famous for its building of the Doc Watson bluegrass stage performance guitar \"Old Hoss\", along with supplying other guitar luminaries. Aria\'s copy was said to be reproduced by micrometer measure and duplication of all bracing, specs and dimensions--the definition of a \"lawsuit guitar.\". The G-series (Gallagher copies) were considerably more costly than the other acoustic models offered in the mid-1970\'s Aria catalogs.offer with confidence.. 100% positive response seller, and a return/refund privilege (buyer to pay tracked, insured return shipping) adds secure buying. AK and HI buyers will be billed for excess ship charges. Available to all nations under the U.S. shipping center.
