When a deep-sea vesselvisits Squamish Terminals to pick up cargo for the very first time the captainwas presented with a First Nations carving by Chester Joseph.Chester was born on the Capila in North Vancouver into the “Bear Clan”. He haslived in Squamish since the age of 7 and has been a carver for 38 years. He isa father of six children Chesteris well known for carvings of bright red salmon eggs, eagles, bears, thunderbirds,salmon, wolves, two-headed sea serpents and killer whales. Chester’sartwork is highly sought after by collectors throughout the Pacific Northwest and many other countries of the world. By now hepresented six of his carvings to vessel captains who were at Squamish Terminalson their maiden voyage

Condition: excellent, showing very minor signs of use
