A rareHO scale all brass model of the famous Timken 1111 \'FourAces\'(4-8-4) steam locomotive from Key Imports. The prototype was a 4-8-4 Northern type steam locomotive built by American Locomotive Company (Alco) in 1930 for Timken Roller Bearing Company as a demonstration engine to showcase the new roller bearings produced by the company to the various railroad customers. It was also the first locomotive to have all sealed roller bearings rather than friction bearings or a combination of both types.This extremely rare limited edition modelwas manufactured by the master craftsmen of Samhongsa in Korea and imported by Key Imports in 1979.Excellent detailing and solidly built including sprung drives, sprung tender wheels, and cab interior. Powered by a quality can motor it has been fully tuned and runs very smooth and quiet. Except for some red foam stain on the sides of the tender the model is otherwise mint condition. The original box and foam are still in great shape. Also included are the boiler weight and a small parts package.This is a must have steam locomotive model for the serious HO modeler and collector.
