Here we have a beautiful antique high quality bone handleddrafting or drawing instrument set made by Tamaya in Japan. The Tamaya name was originally from a companyestablished in 1675 to produce and sell eyeglasses. Some 225 years later, the company, renamedTamaya Shoten company was organized in1901 to supply high quality surveying and scientific instruments to japan whichwere actually imported from Europe and America. They soon began producinginstruments in Japan as well which were of similar high quality. This completeset of drawing instruments is in superb original condition as you can see. The pen for producing different pattern dashedlines has and extra pattern roll stored in the handle as you can see. All theinstruments are marked Tamaya, except for a simple scribe, which clearly hasthe same design and construction. Theset retains its original wooden box, and appears to have the original blankbone name plate. These sets are getting very hard to find in complete andexcellent condition. This set would make an excellent gift for the engineer,architect, or collector.
