Up for the sale is a beautiful Chinesewoman\'sembroidered silk informal robe/ overcoat.
On a blue satin silk material applied roundels finely embroidered in bright multicolored threads using forofferden stitches (Peking knot) and golden thread couching.
On my opinion the roundels are taken from an old Qi\'ing dynasty robe and applied on a later silk robe. So are the sleeve bandsm the collar, and the borders.
The collar and the borders finely embroidered in gold and silk threads using satin stitches.
Sleeve bands are executed in a very fine forofferden stitch.
The roundels feature scences in a blooming garden.
Extremely finely worked piece- just look at the pictures!
The robe measures 43.5\" (105.4 cm) long.
Condition:good condition overall with some insignificant pulling to the threads of the embroidered roundels; sadly one of the sleeve bands has a stain (bleeding of colors- see pictures).
